It is not too late to plant tomatoes

You can still grow tomatoes outdoors.

Even though we are in the middle of June, it is not too late to grow tomatoes outdoors, and if you grow them directly in the ground, you will be amazed at how easy it is. They do not need to be irrigated, just add a little fertilizer and you will, in the late summer, have a delicious supplement to the other tomatoes.

You can grow tomatoes in your greenhouse without irrigating them. One of our diligent readers from Denmark has for several years grown tomatoes without irrigating them. In the Greenhouse Forum, you can also read a previous article I wrote about a Russian woman who grows tomatoes in the greenhouse without irrigating them. She does irrigate with 5 litres of water when she transplants them, but then they have to take care of themselves. Maybe you should sacrifice one plant and try out the experiment.

Warm and sheltered

I have been doing this for many years and it works. All you have to do is plant them in a warm place, in that way, you can be sure that they will ripen.

The traditional round tomatoes thrive particularly well.

Dig a hole and transplant the tomato. Add plenty of water so that the plant is in a soil that is well saturated with water, then it will take care of itself.
